Omkar Chakraborty is a legal academic and researcher from Assam, India, with a strong interest in constitutional law, mental health law, labour law, and socio-legal research. He completed his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) in 2022 and LL.M. in Criminal Law in 2023. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the Department of Law, Assam University, Silchar, where his research focuses on workplace factors and mental health outcomes among employees in the Information Technology sector in India from a socio-legal perspective. Professionally, Omkar has served as an Assistant Professor of Law and has gained experience in teaching, academic administration, examination coordination, IQAC, NAAC-related work, and student mentoring. These roles have strengthened his organisational, research, communication, and leadership skills while deepening his commitment to legal education. His research interests include constitutional law, workplace mental health, human rights, labour welfare, and the intersection of law and public policy. He aspires to contribute to legal scholarship through quality research publications, evidence-based policy recommendations, and teaching that promotes critical thinking and social justice. Beyond academics, Omkar has a deep passion for music. He enjoys singing, songwriting, and playing musical instruments, as he believes music is a powerful medium for creativity and self-expression. He also actively participates in cultural and extracurricular activities that encourage leadership, teamwork, and community engagement.
